The Bogdoddy Sagas
Shepherd's Warning

shareware ebook.

Synopsis

Set in the beautiful, Kerry countryside of Ireland, this  first of a series of short stories tells of the adventures of Fergal Bogdoddy, his family and friends.

Bogdoddies are peaceful people, living within the boglands. They have webbed feet and the ability to whistle through their noses. Their lives have been disrupted by marauding Cluricauns, (the darker side of the Leprechaun family).

In this first part, Fergal is entrusted with the task of rescuing his father and other Bogdoddies, held captive by the wicked Cluricauns. In order to succeed, he must collect four crystals, which together will provide protection and power against his foes.

During the course of his initial travels, Fergal meets his new friend, Dan, encounters the enigmatic laughing trout, (who enjoy being tickled) and has several mini-adventures, which culminate in the dramatic climax of his rescue attempt, in the tunnels beneath the bog.

Illustrated with ten full-colour plates and a three dimensional map, showing the route of Fergal’s quest, the book will appeal to children between the ages of six and ten years.

The story has a warm and engaging appeal, which manages to highlight family values and keeps violence to an absolute minimum, whilst introducing humorous moments to lighten the tale.
